Upper secondary education

Kolding offers a wide range of upper secondary education programmes, including both academic and vocational pathways. Most programmes are taught in Danish, but the city also offers a selection of international upper secondary education programmes.

 

International Baccalaureate Programme at Kolding Gymnasium

At Kolding Gymnasium, you can enrol in the three-year International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme, which is equivalent to the Danish Upper Secondary School Diploma (studentereksamen).

Higher Education

Kolding offers excellent opportunities to find the degree programme that suits your ambitions. The city is home to around 50 higher education programmes across four institutions:

  • University of Southern Denmark (SDU) – Kolding
  • IBA Business Academy Kolding
  • Design School Kolding
  • UC SYD – Kolding

You can study a wide range of subjects, including IT, entrepreneurship, design, finance, education, business, and many more. Some programmes are taught in Danish, while others are taught in English.

One shared campus

One of Kolding’s unique strengths is that all four higher education institutions are located within one shared campus area in the heart of the city. Everything is within walking distance, including cafés, bars, live music venues, the railway station and a wide selection of attractive student accommodation.

The good student life

Kolding offers high-quality educations, but student life is about much more than studying. The city provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy an active and rewarding social life – even on a student budget. With a large international student community and a wide range of activities available in English, it’s easy to meet new people and find something to enjoy.

Campus Sport offers affordable sports activities for students, including dance, yoga, football, badminton and guided sauna sessions. Creative students can enjoy a wide range of free activities at venues such as Bygning 5, Fundament and Godset.

Kolding also has a lively nightlife with cafés, bars, live music venues and nightclubs. Whether you prefer cocktails at a wine bar, inexpensive drinks at a student bar, dancing the night away or spending an evening in one of the city’s traditional pubs, there is something to suit every taste.
